Michal Czerniawski

Michal Czerniawski is an administrator for the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE), where he deals with data protection, transparency and information security. He has completed a Ph.D. on the territorial scope of the EU data protection regime. He holds an LL.M. in Law and Technology from the University of Ottawa and is an attorney-at-law admitted in Poland. Before joining the European Parliament he was a legal officer at the European Data Protection Board. He has been dealing with personal data protection since 2008, first as a lawyer working for law firms, and then as a representative of the Polish government during the negotiations of the General Data Protection Regulation.
